New application

Below are the dates when children can access the Funded 2 Year Old Early Years Entitlement; an eligibility check needs to be done before your child can start, but this can be done in the funding periods below, giving you time to find an Early Years Place for your child:

  • Children born from the 1st January to 31st March (inclusive) will become eligible to start at a nursery, pre-school or childminder, from the beginning of the 'Summer Term' (this begins in April) – the application can be done from the 1st January.
  • Children born from the 1st April to 31st August (inclusive) will become eligible to start at a nursery, pre-school or childminder, from the beginning of the 'Autumn Term' (this begins in September) – the application can be done from the 1st April.
  • Children born from the 1st September to 31st December (inclusive) will become eligible to start at a nursery, pre-school or childminder, from the beginning of the 'Spring Term' (this begins in January) – the application can be done from the 1st September.
